Gangland Shooting: Two shot DEAD in the center of Marseille city

The two men were travelling in separate cars through the city centre when another car blocked their path.

Four men armed with Kalashnikovs jumped out of the vehicle and opened fire.

One man was killed at the wheel of his car, the other as he tried to run to safety.

The two men are yet to be identified. “Given the operational method, the likelihood is that this is a settling of scores” between criminal groups and “terrorism is being ruled out,” said deputy prosecutor Andre Ribes.

The Mediterranean port has long been associated with violence and the drug trade.
