Arrests made in #Philly Teen Aisha Abdur Rhaman's Shooting death in #Olney, one a star Football player.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) --A 15-year-old boy has been charged alongside another teen in connection with the murder of a teenage girl outside Einstein Medical Center in North Philadelphia.

15 year old Quadir Gibson from the 5900 Horrocks Street is charged in the murder of 15 year old Aisha Abdur-Rahman.

The other suspect, 19-year-old Darian Person of Rowan Street, turned himself in on Tuesday.

Police say Quadir was not the shooter, but they say he summoned Darian Person to the location, and directed him to shoot a number a people.

Both are now charged with the murder of Aisha Abdur-Rhaman and attempted murder of a 19-year-old male who remains in critical, but stable condition at Albert Einstein Medical Center.

Quadir, a star running back for Father Judge High School, is being charged as an adult.

Philadelphia Police Captain James Clark said during a news conference on Tuesday that it all began when a group of 20 to 30 young people, many from the nearby Delaware Valley Charter High School, agreed to meet for a fight at Broad and Olney Monday afternoon.

"People from school then starting bringing friends from the neighborhood to the school," Clark said. When describing Person, Clark said "He was brought as the muscle. He came with a gun and, unfortunately, he used it."

The fight at Broad and Olney was broken up, Clark said, but the group only moved a short distance away - to the 5500 block of Old York Road, in front of Einstein Medical Center - when a second fight erupted.

That's where three to five shots were fired.

One of the bullets traveled half a block and hit Rhaman in the back, killing her. She was walking with a friend when she was hit.

"She was a totally innocent victim," Clark said.

Investigators say Person was the only one who fired shots. He is not a student of the school, but rather dropped out a year or two ago.

"He is very well known to police," Clark said. Another victim, a 19-year-old man, was hit in the chest. Police are not sure if that 19-year-old victim is connected with the shooting.

Rhaman was a 10th grade student at the Delaware Valley Charter High School. On Tuesday morning, students and faculty returned to the school under a heavy police presence.

This is one of those shootings that came CLOSE to home for me. WHY? My son who is 27 was at that junction in Olney and took photos of a crowd of kids, posted it on Facebook LIVE and I was watching his post saying that these black teens look mad at each other.  I simply told him not to get involved and leave the area. Don't be the one trying to break fights between lawless kids. They usually have guns. My son left and posted another status. I'm sitting in my office here in Africa and he's in Philly and posts, "I knew it! Two people shot at Olney where I just left!"

UPDATE: The latest on the 15 youth many teenagers SHOT in a #Miami club>>YES you heard me, 15 SHOT!

WHAT? I woke up here in Nigeria to hear that 15 teenagers were SHOT in one nightclub in Florida? Lets assume they all died and the headlines on CNN were "15 Teenagers shot to death" Are we gonna speed up on gun violence awareness here?

Fifteen people, many of them teenagers and some as young as 11, were shot early Sunday morning at a Miami nightclub, Miami-Dade police reported.

Police spokeswoman Frederica Burden said the victims ranged in age from 11 to 25 and were taken to area hospitals.

Several victims were released from hospitals Sunday afternoon and a person who'd earlier been listed as critical was upgraded to critical but stable, police said in a news release.

It's not clear whether the nightclub catered to teenagers. No public safety officials have explained why so many youths 16 and younger were inside a nightclub after the midnight Miami-Dade County curfew.

Authorities said the shooting happened about 1 a.m. at The Spot nightclub at NW 64th Street and Seventh Avenue.

CNN affiliate WPLG said a large party was being held when shooting broke out. Witnesses told police they heard about 100 gunshots, WPLG reported.

"At this point, we are not sure if we have one shooter or multiple shooters," Burden said. No arrests had been made by late Sunday.

Police have yet to determine whether good surveillance video exists to help in the investigation, WPLG said. The club had recently begun to allow teen parties on the weekends, the affiliate reported.

Shereka's death really affected me as I followed every single detail on her Facebook memorial page earlier this year and now word comes from the BBC that a teenage boy has been found guilty of shooting his 15-year-old girlfriend dead after she went to give him a birthday present. She never got to celebrate her sweet 16 on July 12th 2014 because of an illegal gun on a 15y/o.

Shereka Fab-Ann Marsh died after a single bullet from a counterfeit 1930s Italian Beretta pistol struck her in Hackney, east London, in March.

The boy, 15, was cleared of her murder but found guilty of manslaughter.

He was also found guilty of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, at the Old Bailey.

The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was remanded in custody for sentencing on a date to be fixed.

In March, Shereka had gone to give the boy a birthday present, the court heard.

After the shooting the boy called 999 but Shereka had suffered serious internal bleeding and could not be saved, jurors heard.

In court, the boy recreated the moment the incident happened, holding his hands together and pointing his fingers towards jurors from the witness box.

Under cross examination, he showed how he was holding the gun with both hands and "waving it" around when he "accidentally pulled the trigger".

He denied that he was posing with the weapon and that was why he had to have his fingers on the trigger.

These cases of possessing guns and playing with them is playing over and over again. This is why I always ask people to REPORT illegal guns! Get them off the streets and homes to avoid deaths like this.

Why did Antoine Davis Kill his Baby's mom and she heroically saved baby in #TOILET 13 hours!!

MABELTON, GA -A deceased Georgia mother is being called a hero by her family after she died while shielding her six-month-old daughter from being shot.

According to WSB-TV, the incident occurred last Saturday night in 33-year-old Jessica Arrendale's townhome.

Her family said she went out with the baby's father, 30-year-old Antoine Davis, earlier in the evening.

Davis, a former Marine who served in Iraq, reportedly became drunk and abusive and chased Arrendale up the stairs of the home around Midnight.

She tried to defend herself with a baseball bat, but Davis allegedly hit her with it while she was holding their daughter, Cobie. The baby suffered a traumatic head injury that the family says may have come from Davis swinging the bat.

Arrendale then locked herself in the bathroom with her baby, reported WSB-TV.

Davis grabbed his assault rifle, broke into the bathroom and shot the mother of his child in the head. Instead of falling to the floor, Arrendale fell over the toilet, dropping her daughter Cobie into the bowl.

“He shot her and [police] don't know how she was able to twist her body and fall literally in the opposite direction,” said Teresa Inniello, Arrendale's mother.

Baby removed from toilet 13 hrs later
Inniello believes Davis intended to kill Cobie too. She said Arrendale is a hero because her body covered the child, preventing her from being shot.

“She was the hero because her last breath was saving the child,” explained Inniello.

Police said after shooting Arrendale, Davis went to the baby's room and took his own life.

Authorities arrived after they received reports that someone was in the home with a gun. They initially thought a victim was being held hostage, but they were not able to contact anyone in the house, so they were cautious about rushing inside.

Because the two adults in the house were dead, no one could pull the baby from the toilet until rescue crews got into the house. The baby was rescued from the toilet 13 hours later.

She is recovering at the Children's Health Care of Atlanta at Scottish Rite Hospital. Her grandmother hopes to take her home and raise her along with Arrendale's older daughter, who is 15.

(Photo) Speaking out for #MURDERED Victims is my PRIORITY #JarvisStRemy

SPEAKING OUT FOR THE MURDERED VICTIMS: It is more than a mother's grief. It is a Grandmother, brother, son and friend's grief. Losing Jarvis St Remy has been a challenge for me. A May 2009 murder that shocked the whole of Toronto when your child cannot go to a friend's house, watch a game and stand waiting for the bus.

After 9 news conferences we have NOTHING! Why? All I know is that with the amount of cold cases solved this month alone, anything is possible. Jarvis was 18 and he did not die in vain. Thank you to all the people that supported my work in Community Activism in 2011. I cannot do it all. I need all your help Toronto.

There is still one piece of this puzzle that needs to be solved. Call 416-808-7400 and ask for Detective Brian Borg at cold cases or email him at Brian.Borg@TorontoPolice.on.ca.
