#Chicago Tribune reports 2 DEAD, 9 injured since Wednesday.

Two men were killed and at least nine other people have been wounded in shootings citywide since Wednesday afternoon, police said.

A 26-year-old man was fatally shot at 8:09 p.m. in Old Town on the 1200 block of North Clark Street, according to police.

A person drove up, got out of the vehicle and shot him multiple times. The attacker then fled in the vehicle after the shooting.

The man, a convicted felon on parole, was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, said Officer Thomas Sweeney, a police spokesman.

He was later pronounced dead at the hospital, said Officer Veejay Zala, a Chicago police spokesman.

Another person was shot and wounded in Old Town about an hour earlier, police said. A 19-year-old man was in the 1300 block of North Hudson Avenue at about 7 p.m. when he was shot in the hip. He went to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and his condition was stabilized.

Earlier Wednesday, a 30-year-old man who died was shot in the 8000 block of South Green Street in the Gresham neighborhood, said Officer Kevin Quaid, a police spokesman.

Police were called about 12:20 p.m. and found the man shot in the head. He was pronounced dead on the scene, Quaid said.

Nonfatal shootings:

At 12:05 a.m. Thursday, a 15-year-old boy and a 19-year-old woman were shot in the Hanson Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side. The boy was shot in the back and the woman was shot in both legs near the intersection of Belden Street and Lorel Avenue. They got themselves to Community First Medical Center, where the woman's condition was stabilized. The boy was transferred to Lurie Children's Hospital. He was listed in critical condition.

At 11:40 p.m., a 39-year-old man was shot in the 6300 block of South Damen Avenue, Zala said. He was shot in the arm and went to Holy Cross Hospital, where he was listed in good condition. A police sergeant was nearby to get food when he heard the gunfire and saw people running, a law enforcement source said. He then found a gunshot victim in a nearby black sedan.

At 11:20 p.m., a 17-year-old girl was shot in the Marquette Park neighborhood. She was on a porch in the 6500 block of South Maplewood Avenue when two people on the street fired shots. She was hit in the leg and went to Holy Cross Hospital in good condition.

At 10:30 p.m., a 29-year-old man was shot in South Austin. He was in the 600 block of South Cicero Avenue when he heard a gunshot and realized he had been shot in the right wrist. He got himself to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in good condition.

At about 10:15 p.m., an 18-year-old man was shot in the leg in the Uptown neighborhood on the North Side, Zala said. The man was standing outside in the 1200 block of West Ainslie Street when a dark-colored van passed by and someone inside it fired shots, striking him, Zala said. He was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in good condition.

Around 8:33 p.m., a 16-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man were wounded in a shooting in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side, police said.

The boy was shot in the chest, and the man was shot in the leg on the 4900 block of West Ferdinand Street, Sweeney said.

The two were outside when an attacker walked up to them and fired shots, Sweeney said. The victims were in serious condition at Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.

At 5:04 p.m., a 26-year-old man was shot in the leg on the 600 block of West 80th Place, police said. Police are investigating whether the man shot himself by accident. The man is a convicted felon, who is on parole and is a gang member, police said.

No one was immediately in custody as a result of the shootings.

Family of 4yo SHOT in #Chicago thought gunfire was fireworks.

A relative of a 4-year-old boy who was shot in Woodlawn recounted the chaos around the shooting, saying Wednesday that the family first thought the gunshots were fireworks.

At 9:10 p.m., someone pulled up to the Parkway Gardens housing complex in a dark-colored sedan and fired into a crowd standing in front of a building, according to Officer Laura Amezaga, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

Kavan Collins, 4, was walking with his mom and brother in the complex when they heard loud pops, family said.

"At first they didn't think it was nothing, 'cause boys were letting off fireworks there," said Magen Willis, who identified herself as an aunt of Kavan. "But then [Kavan] started screaming, and he was bleeding. But no one could tell where he was bleeding from."

Deciding that "the ambulance was taking too long," the family drove Kavan to Comer Children's Hospital, Willis said. He was listed in serious condition there, police said.

Jason Sheats: My wife KILLED our daughters to make me SUFFER!

The husband of Christy Sheats, the woman who killed her two daughters, told authorities his wife wanted him to suffer. Jason Sheats told law enforcement that that was her motive behind shooting Taylor and Madison Sheats at their Katy-area home on June 24. Imagine your wife and daughters all killed on your birthday, that's like a day to suffer every year. What a horrible selfish mother. At today's press conference, authorities said Jason Sheats had no interest in speaking with the media. However, he confirmed eyewitness accounts about what took place.

The motive, in his words, was that his wife wanted him to suffer because he had ample time to shoot and kill him, but she chose not to, and instead gun down his daughters. Jason Sheats told police his wife knew how much he loved his girls, and by killing them, he would have to live the rest of his life with this memory.

Jason Sheats told police his oldest daughter, Taylor, had a verbal argument with her mother, and after that fight, she tried to ground her in order to prevent her from seeing her fiance. However, Jason Sheats said his wife shouldn't try to ground her 22-year-old daughter, according to authorities. Taylor was to be married just days after she was killed.

The shooting happened after Christy Sheats called a family meeting in which there were expectations of a discussion about a divorce between Jason and Christy, according to authorities. The couple had been married more than 20 years.

We've learned there were several prior calls for service at the Sheats' home.

Christy Sheats was admitted to a private facility on three separate occasions for attempted suicide. She was suffering from depression ad taking numerous medications. Authorities say they were told Christy Sheats drank heavily.

As for the gun used in the murders, Jason Sheats said it was given to her by her grandfather who passed in 2012. Authorities say Christy was close with her grandfather and had a "downward spiral" after his death and her mother's subsequent death two months after his passing.

Jason Sheats said Christy tried to apply for a license to carry permit and was denied a license. Authorities are working to confirm that information.

Law enforcement officers say they have not found any writings from Christy Sheats, but they are doing some forensic analysis.

#Texas mom Christy Sheats former employer said she was ERRATIC.

The employer who for five months last year shared a small office with Christy Sheats, the Texas mom who fatally shot her two daughters before being shot and killed by police, says she was an erratic employee who frequently missed work and wasn't always truthful with him.

Still, he says, he never would have expected the horrific final actions she took.

"Whether it was her or anybody else, it wouldn't be much more of a shock that a mother would murder her children," John Hollis, who hired Sheats as a part-time receptionist for his business, tells PEOPLE. "But the fact that I was connected to her in a sense professionally, looking back on it, I'm more disturbed today than the day I found out."

"Everybody is making an assumption that I 'knew' her," he says. "And in reality nobody 'knew' her, her family didn't know her, nobody knew her, because what she was and the reality of what she presented herself to be were two different things."

Sheats, 42, was shot by police June 24 when she refused to drop her gun after firing and killing her daughters Taylor, 22, and Madison, 17, after convening a family meeting in the midst of tension in their Katy, Texas, home on her husband Jason's 45th birthday.

Hollis owns Clean Canvas Laser Tattoo Removal in Houston, where Sheats was hired for a receptionist position in January 2015. Hollis is the sole other employee of the appointment-only business, where he says Sheats worked no more than 25 hours per week.

He trusted her resume because she claimed "prior salon experience" working in her home state of Alabama. He did not verify that earlier employment before hiring her. "I was going based on her appearance and presentation," he says. "She had that sweet, Southern Alabama look and sound about her."

He says Sheats initially appeared to be a good fit. "She was very pleasant when she wanted to be. That was in front of customers," Hollis says. "The times when she wasn't pleasant were times when I assume that whatever was going on at home was getting to her."

Police have released the chilling 911 calls from the shootings of Taylor and Madison Sheats by their mother, Christy Sheats, in Katy, Texas. Her husband, Jason Sheats, was not shot after escaping to a neighbor’s house to get help.

Christy Sheats, 42, killed her daughters, 22, and 17, last Friday before she was shot dead by a responding officer, the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office said.

The first call, which lasts about 45 seconds, was made by 17-year-old Madison Sheats. She can be heard screaming, along with her father, Jason Sheats, who begs his wife to not shoot them.

In the second call, 22-year-old Taylor Sheats tells the dispatcher, “I’m shot.”

The third call was made by a neighbor. Jason Sheats, who was celebrating his birthday on the day of the shooting, can be heard pleading with his wife as Taylor and Madison scream in the background during the first 911 call.

“Please put down that gun, don’t shoot us,” Jason Sheats said as a shriek is heard from one of the girls. “I’m sorry … Baby, I beg you. I’ll do anything you say. Please don’t point that gun at us. I’m sorry, I promise you, whatever you want…”

The call was then disconnected.

In the second call, Taylor Sheats can be heard sobbing after yelling “I’m shot” as the 911 dispatcher tries to get information from her. “Please,” she says as the call disconnects.

The third call, the longest of the three, was made by a neighbor after the incident spilled into the quiet neighborhood street outside the Sheats’ home.

“We need an ambulance right away,” the neighbor said. “Two people, I believe they’re shot. … There’s a lady with a gun, she’s coming out of the house right now. Two people shot outside, two people shot outside.”

The dispatcher asks if Sheats is still shooting and the neighbor says no, but the gun is in her hand.

The neighbor says Sheats was wearing a purple dress. He said the daughters were “laying in the middle of the street. And there’s a guy trying to help them, but the lady is on top of one of them with the gun in her hand. … She’s in the street just standing up.”

He said it looks like both the victims were alive.

“She’s trying to shoot again, but apparently she don’t have any more bullets … she’s going inside the house now, it looks like she’s going to look for more bullets,” the neighbor said. After about a minute, he says she is coming back outside again.

“Apparently she has bullets now,” he said. “Oh! She shot her again, from the back, she’s trying to run. … She’s shooting again, they’re running down the street.”

Murdered Rapper Lor Scoota's family holds press conference in #Baltimore.

Loved ones and community leaders gathered on Wednesday morning to hold a press conference for slain Baltimore rapper ‘Lor Scoota’.

Tyriece Travon Watson, 23, also known as ‘Lor Scoota’ was murdered last Saturday in the middle of a busy Baltimore intersection.

“Scoota was not just a local rapper, he was a son of Baltimore that defied and overcame all of the odds that so many of us have faced to achieve the level of a nationally known recording artist,” said Minister Marvin McKenstry Jr. during Wednesday press conference.

McKenstry spoke on the impact Lor Scoota left on the community and the message he shared across the world.

“We need to recognize him for the artistry. So far his legacy has been overshadowed by the circumstances surrounding his death,” he said. “We declare today that we want people to see past that as we continue to pray and seek justice in his murder that we begin today to celebrate as a city, as a community, the life and legacy of this talented, brilliant, young man.” This is awfully senseless.

MURDERED Rapper Lor Scoota was coming from a Charity Ball game PROMOTING PEACE!

Rapper Lor Scoota was known for his work promoting peace and speaking out against violence in Baltimore. He also often spoke at local schools and youth groups, telling kids to stay in school.

Just hours before he was shot, Lor Scoota was hosting a charity basketball game promoting peace in the city, the Baltimore Sun reports.

“He was a young up-and-coming rapper who had appeared at several events, and the eerie irony that should just absolutely tick all of us off collectively, is that he was leaving a peace rally,” police spokesman TJ Smith said at a press conference.
The “Touch the People Pray for Peace in These Streets” charity game was held at Morgan State University.

“I am saddened to hear about the senseless murder of Tyrice “Lor Scoota” Watson,” Councilman Nick Mosby told WMAR-TV. “He had a heart for youth and took the time out of his schedule to join me on my #EyeAmBaltimore Tour to high schools in West Baltimore following last year’s uprising where he spoke about the importance of staying in school.”

Delaware Governor Jack Markell just signed a bill to close a deadly loophole in Delaware's laws.

This bill, sponsored by Sen. Brian Townsend and Representative Valerie Maglio Longhurst, closes a deadly gap known as the "Charleston Loophole," which allows dangerous people to legally buy a gun without passing a background check -- just because the check wasn't completed within three business days.

Rep Susan Collin's Gun Violence vote wins some major support.

A test vote on bipartisan gun control compromise from Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) showed on Thursday that it would fall short of the 60 supporters needed to advance legislation in the Senate — a signal that GOP leaders will not likely revive the measure anytime soon.

In the first of two hastily-called votes Thursday afternoon, the Collins plan won 52 votes in support, with 46 senators voting against it. It would allow the Justice Department to block people on two key federal terror lists from purchasing firearms, with a chance to appeal the denial of a gun sale if someone was wrongly included on one of the lists.


The other measure, spearheaded by Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), was designed to be more appealing to Republicans by allowing federal officials to merely delay the purchase of a firearm, instead of denying it outright. It picked up just 31 votes in favor of it, with 67 senators opposed — all Democrats, a handful of moderate GOP senators and a swath of conservative Republicans.

Over 180 Musicians write an OPEN LETTER to Congress to #EndGunViolence

More than 180 artists and music industry leaders including Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Billy Joel, Katy Perry, Questlove, Lady Gaga and Paul McCartney have signed a letter asking Congress to do more to prevent gun violence.

A chilling new video has been released by terror group ISIS where it threatens both San Francisco and Las Vegas.

The footage shows shaky clips of both the Golden Gate Bridge and the Las Vegas Strip while jihadis praise Omar Mateen, who killed 49 people at an Orlando nightclub earlier this month.

It is believed the video was released after being made by militants in Mosul, Iraq, while some of the footage was actually filmed on the streets of the west coast cities. Watch the video below:

Gun loving @NRA to spend $2M on campaign ad for Donald Trump

The National Rifle Association’s political arm is launching its first ad campaign of the 2016 presidential race, with a survivor of the terror attack in Benghazi urging viewers to vote for Donald Trump.

The ad, which the NRA Political Victory Fund is backing with more than $2 million, is one of the larger expenditures by an outside group on behalf of the presumptive Republican nominee.

The 30-second spot, entitled “Stop Clinton, Vote Trump,” features Mark Geist, a Marine Corps veteran and security contractor who fought the assault on the U.S. mission in Benghazi, Libya, in 2012 that claimed four American lives, includingAmbassador Chris Stevens.

“A lot of people say they’re not going to vote this November because their candidate didn’t win; Well, I know some people who won’t be voting this year either,” Geist says as he walks through a cemetery in the ad. “Hillary as President? No thanks. I served in Benghazi. My friends didn’t make it. They did their part. Do yours.”

The ad will air on national cable and on broadcast channels in the battleground states of Colorado, Ohio, Nevada, Florida, Virginia and Pennsylvania.

The campaign comes at a time when Clinton has been vastly outspending Trump and pummeling him on air for weeks. The Wesleyan Media Project estimated a few weeks ago that her camp had run 105,000 ads, compared with 33,000 run by Trump.

At the same time, his standing in national polls has slipped from a virtual tie with Clinton in late May to trailing her by 7 points, on average, according to theRealClearPolitics.

The NRA ad also hits as House Republicans on Tuesday released the results of their two-year investigation of the attack in Libya.

Clinton said Tuesday that “no one has thought more about or lost more sleep over the lives that we lost, the four Americans, which was devastating." She noted that she called for an independent investigation, that improvements have been made to ensure a similar attack doesn’t happen, and said “I think it's pretty clear it's time to move on."

Omar Mir Seddique Mateen (November 16, 1986 – June 12, 2016)[8] was an American mass murderer. He killed 49 people and wounded 53 others in a mass shooting at the Pulse gay bar in Orlando, Florida. He was killed in a shootout with the local police.

Prior to the shooting, he had been investigated by the FBI in 2013 and 2014. In a call to 9-1-1 during the attack, Mateen pledged his allegiance to the Sunni militant jihadist group Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). He cited as "inspiration" Moner Mohammad Abu Salha, a former acquaintance from his local mosque and a suicide bomber tied to theal-Nusra Front (a rival al-Qaeda-affiliated terrorist group) who had targeted Syrian government troops.[9][10]

At first it looked like a Muslim who hated gays and then his ex-wife spoke out and then his current wife said she drove him to the club to scope it out and now a man said he was his gay lover. Omar was indeed bisexual but what made him commit this act? That night of June 12th was dedicated to Latinos and was billed Latino night.

A man who claimed to be Orlando shooter Omar Mateen’s gay lover came forward, giving an interview while wearing a disguise to Univision on Tuesday. The man, identified only as “Miguel,” says he met Mateen through the gay dating app Grindr and described their two-month relationship as "friends with benefits” where they met 15 to 20 times at an Orlando hotel, the last time in Dec. 2015. Here’s more from a Univision story about the interview:

“I’ve cried like you have no idea. But the thing that makes me want to tell the truth is that he didn’t do it for terrorism. In my opinion he did it for revenge,” he told Univision Noticias anchor Maria Elena Salinas in an exclusive interview in English and Spanish on Tuesday. He said Mateen was angry and upset after a man he had sex with later revealed he was infected with the HIV virus. The man said he had approached the FBI and been interviewed three times in person by agents. Univision was unable to independently verify his account. The FBI confirmed to Univision that it had met with him…
He described Mateen as “a very sweet guy" who never showed a violent side. He loved to be cuddled. "He was looking for love," he said… He said he believed Mateen's second wife knew he frequented gay bars and that his marriage was a smoke screen to hide that he was "100 percent" gay. “He adored Latinos, gay Latinos, with brown skin – but he felt rejected. He felt used by them – there were moments in the Pulse nightclub that made him feel really bad. Guys used him. That really affected him,” Miguel said. "I believe this crazy horrible thing he did – that was revenge."

It never stops. Why are rappers being killed everyday, next the silence that filters in and nobody willing to snitch the killer in. This young man Lor Scoota was a fast rising rapper who actively tried to stop this street violence. I was told he was coming from a celebrity basketball game themed "Peace on the streets". It truly is a shame.

The Baltimore rapper named Tyriece Travon Watson, who went by the stage name Lor Scoota, was fatally shot in broad daylight at a busy intersection on Friday, police said. Watson, 23, had just left a charity basketball game in Baltimore calling for "peace in the streets" when he was killed.

He was driving in his car when an unknown black male wearing a white bandana stepped into the street and opened fire, Baltimore police said. Watson was brought to a local hospital but died from his injuries.
The shooter appeared to be targeting Watson, Baltimore police spokesman T.J. Smith said. No motive has been identified, and police have not named any suspects.

Police are examining video related to the shooting and are asking for anyone with any knowledge of the situation to come forward. "We are making some progress but not as much progress as we would like [in finding a suspect]," Smith said. Below is my favourite interview of him.

Mass Shooting in gay club in #Orlando with 20 people shot and shooter DEAD!

The nightclub shooting in Orlando is a "mass casaulty situation", police have confirmed.
