A knife-wielding suspect, shot by LAPD officers at the intersection of Hollywood & Highland, has died. The intersection remains closed tonight.
Eyewitnesses say tourists on the famous boulevard ran for cover as the confrontation escalated into gunfire. Many of those eyewitnesses have posted dramatic images of the frightening scene.
