#Houston Teen fatally shot while taking selfies with gun!

screen_shot_20150902_at_9.04.42_am

I said this for years in Toronto and there were three cases like that I knew back then. so tragic when you find a gun, don't touch it. Call 911!!! This kid is now dead because he decided to pose with the gun. He even dressed like a gangmember in the selfie. May he rest in peace.

A man posing with a gun and taking selfies was killed when the gun went off and struck him in southwest Houston, police said.

Family members said the victim is 19-year-old Deleon Alonso Smith.

Investigators said Smith was taking selfies with a gun at an apartment in the 9800 block of Forum Park Drive and Bissonnet around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday when the gun accidentally went off, shooting the 19-year-old in the throat and killing him. "It's the worst feeling in my life," said the victim's uncle Eric Douglas.

"It's a numb feeling. It's still unbelievable. Yesterday was my birthday and he came to wish me happy birthday, and now this kind of news," said Smith's grandmother Alma Douglas.

Family members said Smith has two young children and was starting college Wednesday.

Investigators said Smith's cousin was in the apartment but in another room when it happened. The cousin told police they found the gun earlier Tuesday, but investigators are working to find out where.

Police said Smith believed the gun was unloaded at the time.

No charges have been filed.

Georgia Officers Arrive at Wrong House, Shoot Unarmed Man, Kill His Dog

Trigger happiness but they were black cops and why is Black lives Matters quiet? So cowardly. Those cops are now on administrative leave.

Returning home from her Monday evening walk, Tama Colson rounded the corner into her subdivision and saw DeKalb County police cars.

Then she heard the gunshots — and her neighbors’ anguish.

“I hear Leah screaming, I see Chris walking out, ‘They just shot me, they just shot me, and they killed my dog’,” Colson said Tuesday. “So I got him to lay down, took my shirt off and rendered first aid. And Chris just kept saying, ‘Why did they shoot me? Why did they shoot my dog?’

Those are the key questions in the fourth controversial police shooting in DeKalb County in less than two years — an incident in which, according to authorities, officers responding to a burglary call went to the wrong home, shot the unarmed homeowner, killed his dog and wounded one of their own.

Now the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is sifting through information to get answers in this case as DeKalb officials and others in law enforcement cite the current challenges officers face.

“Are we perfect?” DeKalb director of public safety Cedric Alexander said. “Absolutely not. But when we find a mistake, we own it. We own the fact that we were at the wrong house. We didn’t hide it. We didn’t mismanage it. We were at the wrong location based on information that was given to us.”

Father and son SHOT and KILLED in #Twinsburg #Ohio domestic dispute

                                                   (Michael Chritton/Akron Beacon Journal)

TWINSBURG: Two people are dead and a third is wounded after an apparent domestic disturbance turned deadly Tuesday night in Twinsburg.

Authorities say a 55-year-old man died at the Cleveland Clinic Twinsburg Family Health & Surgery Center after the 6 p.m. shooting at a home near the intersection of Sherwin Drive and Darrow Road.

Twinsburg police said the gunman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The identity of the two victims will not be released until Wednesday morning.

The extent of the injuries to a third victim were not disclosed, but the individual was transported to the emergency room at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights, police said.

Twinsburg Police Lt. Gina DeVito-Staub said officers and rescue units were dispatched to 2425 Sherwin Drive at 5:49 p.m. for a reported shooting at the residence.

DeVito-Staub said “security measures” had to be taken to secure the scene to tend to the wounded.

Nearby residents were ordered inside their homes as gunfire filled the air once again after officers and fire department personnel arrived at the home.

Shortly after the shooting, police also ordered the Kent State Regional Academic Center on Creekside Drive in Twinsburg into a lockdown.

Kent State spokesman Eric Mansfield said there were about 200 students and faculty in the Twinsburg Regional Academic Center when the lockdown was ordered.

The all-clear was issued around 7:30 p.m. and classes were canceled for the night.

John Ruda, who lives on Darrow Road, said he had just returned home with his family from dinner when a number of police cars came screaming into the neighborhood.

He said he pulled out his cellphone and began recording and then ducked for cover as he heard police officers screaming at someone followed by numerous gunshots.

“Police cars were driving onto lawns and they came out with their guns drawn,” Ruda said.

McKenzie Aigler, 18, said he knew the older couple who lived in the house where the shooting occurred.

He said the couple’s son and his wife also lived on the property.

“They were the nicest couple in the neighborhood,” he said.

Ken Coon, who lives on the corner of Sherwin Drive and Darrow Road, said he was inside with his 6-year-old grandson when shots rang out.

The grandson, Coon said, turned to him and said, “Papaw. You hear someone’s shooting?”

Coon said the neighborhood is normally a quiet place to live.

“In today’s society, this could happen anywhere,” he said.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations was called to the scene.
